A WOMAN carried out a fraud scheme at an Edinburgh supermarket by scanning products that were cheaper than the goods she walked out with.
Ionicia Cheptenar wilfully scanned incorrect product labels at a self-service checkout till at Asda’s store at the capital’s The Jewel.
Cheptenar, of Market Street, Musselburgh, carried out scheme on repeated occasions between August and October 2021.
The 35-year-old thief pleaded guilty to the offence when she appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss ordered the offender to pay a fine of £110.
Cheptenar admitted obtaining goods by wilfully scanning incorrect product labels on self-service checkout tills and obtained the goods by fraud at the Asda store between August 27 and October 18, 2021.
