A POPULAR music and arts festival will not go ahead for the second year in a row, after a committee to organise the event could not be formed.

3 Harbours Arts Festival (3HAF) has been running for 18 years and celebrates the arts in and around Prestonpans and Cockenzie and Port Seton, usually taking place each summer.

Historically, the festival has taken the form of a multi-venue live event; however, the 2021 edition was moved online due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Last year, the festival did not return due to a lack of volunteers and trouble organising events due to lockdown restrictions in the wintertime.

Unfortunately, following a meeting held by the organisers last month, it has now been confirmed that no 2023 edition will take place either, with the focus instead turning to ensuring that the festival can at last return in 2024.

The organisers have now arranged for a “revival” meeting later this year, with a new committee to resurrect the festival next year.

A spokesperson said: “At the meeting in April, the consensus was to hold a discussion in September.

“We’re looking to revive the festival in 2024 with a new committee.

“If you have views on the shape it should take and would like to get involved, please come along to the meeting.”

The meeting takes place at Port Seton Community Centre on Thursday, September 28, at 6pm.
