MEMBERS of the Over-50s Club in Musselburgh have raised £400 for the Hollies Community Hub.
The donation was handed over to Karl Cleghorn, chairman of the hub’s board of trustees, by Carol Edmond and Irene McLean, volunteers from the club.
The club, organised by Carol, meets every Thursday from 1.30pm to 4pm in the Store Club, with entertainment from singer Eddie Raven. Raffles raised the funds for the Hollies, which has a public cafe and lunch club for older people in the Musselburgh area.
Carol said: “The Hollies is a hub for the community, with homemade cooking at affordable prices, and needs support.”
Carol, who also volunteers at Radio Saltire, highlighted the station’s community page, which is seen by more than 10,000 people.
Carol added: “Supporting local events, businesses and clubs is vital.
“The Hollies are in dire need of any donations to keep them afloat.”
