AN MSP has been grilled and faced “probing questions” by a group of youngsters.
Pupils from Saltoun and Humbie Primary Schools visited the Scottish Parliament and were given a tour by Martin Whitfield, South Scotland MSP.
The former East Lothian MP visited Saltoun Primary School earlier this year where he held a question and answer session.
Mr Whitfield took the group on a tour of the building, including the parliament’s debating chamber, before facing more tough questions.
He said: “Having visited Saltoun Primary School and met the class earlier this year, I was delighted to be able to return the favour and welcome them and the Humbie pupils to parliament for a special tour of the building.
“Visiting parliament is the best way to learn more about the way it works and how decisions are made, and I hope the pupils enjoyed the experience and found it helpful for their parliamentary project.
“They were certainly just as engaged and enthusiastic as when I visited them in February and had many more probing questions ready for me!”
