FORMER Newsnight presenter and journalist Gavin Esler was the speaker at the John P Mackintosh Memorial Lecture, held in St Mary’s Parish Church in Haddington, last Thursday.
The writer and broadcaster gave a lecture entitled ‘Is Britain Better Than This?’
The John P Mackintosh Memorial Lecture, organised by a joint University of Edinburgh and East Lothian lecture committee, is held in honour of the former MP for Berwick and East Lothian who died in office in 1978.
