A TATTOO studio at the heart of an East Lothian village has been given the go-ahead.

East Lothian Council rubberstamped the move to change an industrial unit at The Mart in East Linton into a tattoo studio.

The plans, from The Crow’s Perch, were approved after no objections from members of the public.

Previously, the applicant had confirmed that the business would operate on an appointment-only basis, with one customer present in the premises at any one time.

A supporting statement included with the application noted: “The owner/practitioner is resident locally and will typically cycle to work.

“A car may be used for the trip from time to time.

“Customers will generally be from the local surrounding area and will walk, cycle or take the bus, with some using car transport.”

East Lothian Council deemed the tattoo studio would be “an appropriate use” within the former auction mart site, which is home to a range of businesses.

The council stated that the business could be open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays.
