A MOTORIST who was caught in charge of a vehicle while having cannabis in his system has escaped a road ban.
Daryl Kinnear, 26, was stopped and arrested during an incident at Car Park 3 at Longniddry Bents in August 2020.
Following procedures by the officers, Kinnear was found to have 2.3mg of cannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is 2mg.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to the offence. Sheriff Morris issued Kinnear, of Cockburn Drive, Ormiston, with 10 penalty points to mark the offence.
Kinnear admitted being in charge of a vehicle with 2.3mg of cannabinol per litre of blood on August 22, 2020.
