Concerns have been raised by North Berwick Community Council about the lack of clear line markings in a town centre car park.
The Seabird Centre car park, on East Road, offers free parking in the off-season and charged parking between March and September.
With 65 spaces, it is heavily used by visitors to the town but concerns have been raised that unclear road markings could potentially lead to accidents.
There is a one-way system for entering and exiting but road markings are said to have faded and there are concerns that signage is not clear, resulting in some vehicles entering and exiting ‘incorrectly’.
East Lothian Council has confirmed it is aware of the matter and plans to install new signage and repaint the lines.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of the issue and are arranging with our lining contractor to repaint lines plus ‘entrance’ and ‘exit’ signs.”
