S6 pupils at Preston Lodge High School bade an emotional farewell as they left the school on exam leave.

Many S6 pupils will return to school to sit exams, however Friday marked their final lessons at the school.

Pupils took part in a leavers' ceremony on Thursday evening before going off on exam leave on Friday for upcoming exams.

Following their exams, S6 pupils will not return to the school but will look forward to their future destinations.

A ceremony was held on Thursday at the school with pupils receiving individual certificates on stage.

A prom night will take place in June following the exam period.

Outside, the 'Class of 23' lay on the ground to create a sign saying "We Love PL" to mark their leave.

Gavin Clark, headteacher at Preston Lodge, said: "Our S6 have been key partners in our work as a school this year.

"They have been a brilliant year group, and have made a major contribution to both their school and the wider community in their time with us.

"We were so pleased families were able to join us for what was a very emotional farewell ceremony on Thursday evening, and our final day together on Friday was a great opportunity to reflect on their time at PL, as well as having a lot of fun.

"We now can’t wait for June’s prom, and our famous S6 March Out at our Prize-giving evening."
