Dunbar Athletic's game away to Bo'ness United in the Rex Gallagher Cup quarter final was abandoned today after one of the Dunbar players collapsed on the pitch.

The game was stopped midway through after the player collapsed and had to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

The club confirmed the player is OK and is making a full recovery.

Dunbar Athletic play in the Lothian and Edinburgh Amateur Football Association (LEAFA) Championship. 

A spokesperson for Dunbar Athletic said: "Following the collapse of one of our players today, the match against Boness United was abandoned.

"Thanks to everyone at Bo'ness for their help along with the quick ambulance response.

"Thankfully he is making good progress and should make a full recovery."
