Muirfield was the highest ranked East Lothian course on the list
THREE of East Lothian’s golf courses have been ranked among the best across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Golf Monthly has compiled its annual top-100 list of the best courses based on feedback from clubs, assessors and its readership.
Muirfield, which last year held the AIG Women’s Open for the first time, was ranked number four – down one place from last year.
Meanwhile, North Berwick Golf Club was placed 29th, up one from last year, and Gullane Golf Club No 1 course was ranked 64th, down three places from the previous list.
Royal County Down Golf Club championship course retained its position at the top of the list, ahead of the Old Course at St Andrews.
