A THREE-YEAR-OLD rowan tree has been planted at Gifford Golf Club as part of a nationwide initiative.
The Queen’s Green Canopy was launched to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee last year.
However, following the Queen’s death, the scheme was extended to include the full tree-planting season, beginning in October 2022 and finishing this month.
Roderick Urquhart, East Lothian’s Lord Lieutenant, attended the planting ceremony along with Gifford Golf Club’s first lady captain, Shona Paton.
The tree was donated by Suzie and Jamie Single from the Caledonian Tree Company.
