A MOTORIST was stopped by police for allegedly driving almost double the speed limit in Haddington.
Officers were carrying out speed checks on the A6093, which connects the town and Pencaitland.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The driver of this vehicle was detected driving at 39mph in a 20mph zone, had no MOT and no insurance.
“Vehicle seized and driver reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.”
