FORMER employees of businesses which played an important role in Haddington’s past are being urged to get in touch.
Haddington’s History Society is recording the memories of people who worked in the Gateside area, which is now home to Haddington Retail Park but previously housed three high-tech industries.
Hilger & Watts, which made scientific instruments, was the first to arrive in 1969; then it was Norwegian company Tandberg, which made colour television sets and closed in 1979; finally, Mitsubishi made TVs until 1999.
Former employees are urged to go to haddingtonshistory.org.uk and contact the group or leave a note marked for the group at the John Gray Centre.
