VIRGIN Media customers across East Lothian have been left without broadband after a cable was damaged in Musselburgh by a third party fitting streetlights.
County residents have been complaining of being without Virgin Media broadband since yesterday evening.
Virgin Media has claimed the issue is due to a third party accidentally damaging a cable while fitting streetlights in Musselburgh.
The broadband company said that this damage was only impacting a small amount of customers and that some customers services were now back online and that work was ongoing to get others online soon.
A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We’re aware that a small number of customers in the East Lothian area are experiencing issues with their broadband and we apologise for any inconvenience. This is due to damaged cable caused by a third party.
“Following our repair works last night and today, some customers are now back online.
"Our teams are continuing to repair the cable to restore services for all impacted customers as soon as possible.”
