TWO musicians who have toured the world are bringing their Scots trad sound to West Barns Village Hall.

Eilidh Shaw (fiddle and vocals) and Ross Martin (guitar) have been at the heart of the Scottish music scene for the last 20 years.

They have crossed the globe, both with their own groups and performing as guest artists with a vast array of performers.

Though probably best known for their work with The Poozies and Daimh, they also made up two-fifths of the cult folk explosion Harem Scarem.

Together, they perform in the county on March 25.

Eilidh said: “We are excited to be performing at West Barns Village Hall this spring.

“It’s a fantastic venue with a great local crowd!

“We are honoured to be part of it and grateful to Scotland on Tour for helping to make it happen.”

The concert is part of the Scotland on Tour series, which has delivered concerts to arts centres, town halls and community venues since April last year.

The initiative, which comes to an end next month, has seen more than 120 artists perform at more than 100 venues the length and breadth of the country.

Alan Gray, of West Barns Village Hall committee, was looking forward to welcoming the latest act.

He said: “It’s been an exciting journey with Scotland on Tour, which we are very pleased to say will continue with further live music.”
