MUCH of East Lothian awoke to a covering of snow this morning.

Weather warnings had been in place for much of this week but only the odd light snow shower had fallen for most until Wednesday night.

A yellow warning of snow is currently in place for most of the county, running until 2pm tomorrow (Friday).

The Met Office says there is potential for snow to cause travel disruption.

The current forecast for East Lothian suggests that more snow could fall this evening into the early hours of Friday, then again on Saturday night, while some snowfall is currently predicted on both Monday and Wednesday next week too.

Current predictions for the county suggest that the snowfall will be light.
