EAST Lothian’s former MP John P Mackintosh will be recognised at an annual lecture next month.
The Labour MP died in office in July 1978, having been MP for Berwick and East Lothian for nearly 12 years.
Previous speakers at the lecture have included former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former First Ministers Donald Dewar and Jack McConnell, and former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Better Together leader Alistair Darling.
This year’s John P Mackintosh Memorial Lecture takes place in St Mary’s Parish Church, Haddington, on April 27.
