NORTH Berwick actor Molly Vevers will be returning to the small screen after it was confirmed Amazon had renewed The Rig for a second season on its streaming service.
The Rig follows a group of workers on a remote Scottish oil rig who are due to return to the mainland when a mysterious fog cloaks them and supernatural forces take hold.
The show, which is filmed in Edinburgh at FirstStage studios in Leith, has received critical acclaim with fans delighted to see the series return after many questions being left unanswered at the end of season one.
Molly Vevers joined an ensemble cast that included Scottish acting heavyweights Martin Compston and Iain Glen, alongside many other well-known British actors, for the six-part series on Amazon’s streaming service.

Thirty-one-year-old Molly was born in Cardiff but grew up in North Berwick, attending Law Primary School and North Berwick High School before following her acting dream by studying at Telford College and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Molly told the Courier: “I’m so pleased that The Rig has been green lit for a second season.
"The story was definitely left in a way that kept the door very much open for a second season.
"I’m buzzing for the writer David Macpherson, and the whole creative team, crew and cast that we get to go back to FirstStage studios to film again.
"I can’t wait to find out where the story goes and how the characters develop. Very excited to get started!”
