A NEW catering business could be set up in a car park with spaces for more than 100 vehicles.
East Lothian Council is looking for someone to take on the task of providing food and drink at the Linkfield car park of John Muir Country Park, near West Barns.
A planning application, which would be determined by the local authority, would be needed for the business before it could start trading.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “Visitors enjoy a range of woodland and beach walks in high quality landscape.
“Popular with those undertaking healthy outdoor activities and those with an interest in our natural heritage.
“The car park is on the John Muir Way long distance path.”
It is anticipated the business could trade from 8.30am to 7.30pm throughout the summer tourist season, with hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm during the winter.
Planning permission was given in September 2021 to Matsform Ltd, with the permission to run for three years.
However, it is understood, that the business has opted to focus on a similar operation off Shore Road, in Belhaven.
Anyone looking to find out more should contact East Lothian Council.
