TRIBUTES have been paid to the founder of the Firth of Forth Lobster Hatchery.

David Grubb passed away last month at the age of 59 and his funeral service was held at The Abbey Church in North Berwick yesterday (Friday).

Refreshments were served at the Nether Abbey Hotel, where a boat was parked as part of the tributes.

Stirling Stewart, from the Nether Abbey Hotel, said: “He was very keen on boats, very keen on the sea and very keen on diving.

“He was the founder of the Firth of Forth Lobster Hatchery.

“If you look at the boat, there is a brass plaque of him diving, with a mask.”

About 300 people attended the service before returning to the hotel on the town’s Dirleton Avenue.

The father-of-three ran Scorpio Safety Systems.
