TWO secondary school pupils will represent the views of young people from throughout East Lothian in the Scottish Youth Parliament.
Katie Fairfull, who is in S3 at Preston Lodge High School, and Finlay McIlwraith, an S5 pupil at North Berwick High School, won the by-election to become East Lothian’s Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYP).
The duo will succeed Daniel Scott and Fraser Davidson, who previously held the roles.
Mr Scott and Mr Davidson were elected in November 2021 alongside Olivia Brown, who represents the Midlothian North and Musselburgh constituency.
The SYP is the democratically elected voice of Scotland’s young people. It provides a national platform for young people to discuss issues important to them and effect the change they wish to see.
