BOXING world champion Josh Taylor was on hand to help officially reopen the Prestoungrange Gothenburg in Prestonpans at an event on Saturday which welcomed patrons back to the famous pub.
The event saw live music and a selection of the chef's award-winning pies to entice returning guests, with Josh helping cut the ribbon.
The Goth, as it is more affectionately known, was temporarily closed last month as the previous licensees decided to move on due to the "spiralling costs" of running the pub.
Patrick Cairney, from Prestonpans, was confirmed as the new tenant at the end of 2022, coming from the Linton Hotel and Steakhouse in East Linton, where he had won acclaim for his management.
He previously stressed that he wanted to bring a “fresh impetus” to the running of the pub, while continuing to build on its historic traditions.
The Goth was established more than 110 years ago to encourage sensible drinking among local miners and the general working classes.
The bar also recently revealed its new food menu, featuring a selection of food available on the grill, including steaks and fresh fish.
