County artists looking to apply for the Visual Artists and Craft Makers Awards scheme (VACMA) must do so by February 7.

VACMA is managed by East Lothian Council Arts Service in partnership with Creative Scotland and provides funding for artists and craft makers living or working in East Lothian.

East Lothian Council Arts Service supports and promotes a wide range of activities and events, provides information about sources of arts funding and offers advice about other available resources for arts funding applications.

Emerging artists and new graduates can apply for £500, with £750 bursaries available for more established practitioners.

VACMA bursaries will support artists at all stages of their career to develop their creative practice.

This can include researching a new body of work, experimenting with new materials, attending courses, artistic mentoring, masterclasses and residencies, among other activities.

Applicants are asked to detail their creative practice, what the bursary will enable them to do and how this will help support their skills and development.

The application form and guidelines can be found on the Arts Service pages of East Lothian Council’s website at: https://bit.ly/2K51olF
