A NUMBER of Burns clubs and other community groups held memorable Burns suppers this year.

Heddingtoun Burns Club held its 132nd annual Burns supper on Friday, with Martyn Wood giving the address to the haggis, Kenny MacAskill giving the immortal memory.

Tantallon Golf Club also held its Burns supper on Friday with Rob Campbell giving the address to the haggis.

Airts Burns Club held its annual supper on Saturday with Grant Macdonald giving the toast to the lasses, president William Carroll giving the address to the haggis and member Jonathan Cuthbert giving the immortal memory.

North Berwick Burns Club held also its Burns supper on Saturday at Marine North Berwick with a number of guests in attendance.

Haggis, neeps and tatties were on the menu at the Lynton Day Centre’s Burns afternoon.

The haggis was piped in by David Scott and carried by Cameron Bell last Wednesday.

The address to the haggis at the East Linton venue was performed by Garry Menzies.

The East of Scotland Branch of the Royal Scots Regimental Association hosted its Burns Night celebrations on Saturday at the British Legion in Prestonpans.

There were 73 personnel attending the evening with numbers made up of the regimental family, guests and members from the Prestonpans British Legion.

Knox Academy joined forces with a Haddington charity for a Burns Supper at Our Community Kitchen.

Pupils attended last Wednesday to toast Scotland’s Bard.

North Berwick Rotary Club celebrated its Burns Night with guests from Law Primary School for the first time since before Covid-19.

The girls from the school brought a selection of entertainment for Rotarians in preparation for their Burns Supper.

The Castle Inn in Dirleton hosted an enjoyable Burns Supper on Saturday (January 28) with a range of guest speakers and entertainment on offer.

The evening was organised by events organiser Castle Events and chaired by Kenny Greenan, who also performed a robust Address to the Haggis.
