A Musselburgh man breached a non-harassment order banning him from contacting his former partner.
Ross Craigie, 23, was given the court order prohibiting him from having any contact with the woman when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in June last year.
But he breached the order nine weeks later when he repeatedly contacted the woman on social media by sending her abusive messages containing swearing and offensive remarks.
Craigie, of Galt Terrace, also admitted breaching the order by meeting up with the woman on one occasion and the court heard all the breaches took place between September 5 and 29 last year.
Sentence had been deferred for the preparation of social work reports after Craigie pleaded guilty last November.
Sheriff Auchincloss placed Craigie on supervision for the next 30 months and ordered him to meet with the domestic abuse team at Caledonian Men’s Project. He also imposed a three-year non-harassment order banning him from approaching or contacting the woman.
