A WALLYFORD man threatened to post on social media an intimate photograph of his former partner.

Lee Carrigan threatened to disclose the image during a period of time when he was abusive of the woman while they were in a relationship.

Carrigan, of Dury Way, also repeatedly uttered offensive and threatening comments towards his partner between September 13 and October 9, 2020.

The 26-year-old admitted causing the woman fear, alarm or distress with his abusive behaviour at a property at High Street, Prestonpans.

Carrigan pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last year and was due to be sentenced on a return visit to the dock last week.

But when the case called against Carrigan last Tuesday, he was told the hearing was being adjourned to a further date next month

Carrigan had also admitted to a separate offence of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by acting aggressively and demanding money after he had attended at an address at Moir Avenue in Musselburgh.

He also pleaded guilty to shouting, swearing and breaking a window at the home on November 6, 2020.

Carrigan will return for sentencing on both charges on February 14.
