Greggs in North Berwick has applied for planning permission with East Lothian Council to refit the interior of the store.
The store, located on the town's High Street, currently has a seated area on the right-hand side of the interior with "self-selector" fridges on the left-hand side.
Under the proposals these would be switched with a new seating area on the left and fridges and shelving on the right.
The company has applied for change of use from Class 1 to Class 3 for either side of the store.
Details of what the new fittings will look like are not present within the application.
Planning officials are set to make their decision by March 23.
