AN INJURED dog who had fallen into the water near the former Cockenzie Power Station has been rescued.

RNLI volunteers were called out on Friday afternoon after reports the fox red Labrador had fallen off the three-metre high seawall.

A crew from Kinghorn arrived on the scene at about 3.20pm and quickly located the animal, which had clambered onto a rock beneath the jetty.

A spokesperson for the RNLI, who were joined by Coastguard from Fisherrow, said: “We were able to get close in and recover the dog into the lifeboat.

“She had a paw injury and was taken to Cockenzie harbour where she was reunited with her worried owner.”
