Residents of Musselburgh, Whitecraig and Wallyford enjoyed a hide-and-seek event helping to find over 100 rocks painted with the face of baby Jesus.

In an event organised by Musselburgh resident Lorraine McBrearty, with the help of the congregation of Northesk Parish Church, 110 rocks painted with the face of baby Jesus were hidden in the area throughout last month.

Residents found them and posted pictures of the found rocks on Facebook.

Reflecting on the hide-and-seek event, Lorraine said: “It’s been another successful year for it.

“We’ve had a great response from people posting their photos in the comments.

“There were 110 rocks painted in total, so a lot of work went into it, but it was really great to see the reaction from people.”

Many people took to the comments on Facebook to share their pictures and their excitement at finding the rocks.

One person wrote: “Found these three in Beulah, Musselburgh. My girls were delighted to find them.”

Another said: “Found one on my walk back from Newhailes. Thank you, such a lovely idea! Cheered me up!”

While a third added: “Woo hoo, managed to get one, housebound parents delighted.”
