Carers of East Lothian and Alzheimer Scotland are inviting people living with dementia and their family or carers to a musical tea to learn about personalised playlists on Wednesday.
The event takes place from 2pm to 4pm at The Fraser Centre in Tranent.
The musical tea will allow those living with dementia to listen to some of their favourite music.
Studies have shown that, whether it’s the music from a first dance, lullabies from childhood, or a theme tune from a favourite TV show, personalised playlists can help reduce anxiety, improve moods, make difficult tasks more manageable, and evoke memories to help connect with family members and carers.
Tea, coffee and cake will also be provided.
Anyone who is interested in attending can book their place at the event free of charge by calling 0131 665 0135 or emailing centre@coel.org.uk now.
