AN AWARD-WINNING restaurant is teaming up with a “baking sensation” for a special event.

The Bonnie Badger is working alongside the Hebridean Baker to offer guests a chance to celebrate a unique afternoon of stories and songs from the Scottish islands, while enjoying afternoon tea inspired by recipes from Coinneach MacLeod’s second cookbook.

Coinneach will bring his passion for the Scottish islands and his home of the Isle of Lewis in a blend of baking inspired by family recipes, traditional bakes and Scottish flavours, combined with live music from Coinneach as he shares Scottish stories and songs along with his sidekick, Seòras the dog.

With a shared passion for celebrating Scotland’s great natural larder, the Hebridean Baker will come together with The Bonnie Badger’s team of chefs to present guests with an afternoon tea.

The event takes place in Gullane on Saturday (January 21), with two sittings of the afternoon tea – at 2.30pm and 5pm.

Tom Kitchin, chef owner of The Bonnie Badger, said; “We are always inspired by other people who share our deep-rooted pride for Scotland and the incredible larder we have access to, so it’s great to be wel- coming Coinneach to The Bonnie Badger.

“I really admire his passion for his home, his community and his recipes that truly celebrate Scotland.”
