A DOUBLE bedroom could be converted into a space for sleeping dogs at a house in Dunbar.

A dog walking and boarding business could be set up in the property on Beachmont Place.

Proposals lodged with East Lothian Council’s planning department show the change of use of a single room at the address.

Fraser Purves, who is behind the plans, noted that there would be no structural changes to the house or the garden for the new business.

He said: “The business will involve day care for no more than seven dogs per day. These dogs will be uplifted from their homes by myself in my adapted van and thereafter taken to one of many locations for a walk.

“These dogs will then be transported back to their home address or to the business address, where they will be looked after indoors until their afternoon walk about 2.30pm.

“Following this walk, the dogs will then be transported back to their own home, again using the business van.

“Overnight boarding will be for no more than two dogs which will be kept indoors following any walks required.

“The room indoors for the dogs is currently used as a spare bedroom but this will be fitted out with appropriate dog beds required and these dogs will be housed as if they were my own.”

Mr Purves anticipated the operating hours would be between 8am and 5pm.
