A road closure will be in operation along Delta Drive in Musselburgh from Monday (January 9) until Friday January 27.
The closure will be in place from Monday to Friday from 8am-4pm to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works and a diversion route will be in place along Delta Road and Galt Avenue.
Emergency vehicle, residential and pedestrian access will be maintained and vehicles associated with the work will be exempt from the closure. Residents should present refuse collections as normal.
Prior to the works commencing, residents must cut back any hedges or trees, which are encroaching on to the carriageway to the boundary line of their property.
This is to allow the large resurfacing equipment access to the full carriageway width, otherwise work may not be able to be completed.
Furthermore, any temporary driveway access ramps that have been installed by residents will not be reinstated after the works.
East Lothian Council has also asked resident to be aware that before the final surface layer is laid, the existing surface will be sprayed with a black bituminous emulsion which becomes very sticky.
Residents should be aware, and make other family members aware, that this material should be avoided as it will readily stick to soles of footwear, bicycle tyres, and pet’s paws and is very difficult to remove.
