Preston Lodge High School has welcomed back a Christmas event with the return of the Senior Citizens’ Tea Party for the first time in three years.

The event was hosted annually but had been put on hold in recent times due to Covid-19.

The school hosted the event last Thursday and, despite being a strike day, staff and students pulled out all the stops to give local senior citizens a great festive day out.

Many of the guests were former Preston Lodge pupils who enjoyed a lively chat about school days then and now with current pupils and staff.

Guests were treated to food, music and a Christmas sing-along.

Santa himself even made an appearance alongside Mrs Claus.

The school thanked the home economics and music teams for making the event possible, as well as the Premier Bakery, the Royal British Legion and the Preston Lodge Learning Foundation for their generous support.
