A MOTORIST was allegedly found to be nearly four times over the legal drink-drive limit when they were stopped in Haddington yesterday (Tuesday).
The alleged incident took place at about 9.15pm yesterday on High Street in Haddington, when Dunbar road policing officers stopped a vehicle as part of a routine patrol for not having its windscreen cleared properly.
Officers breath-tested a 46-year-old man who allegedly gave a reading of 82 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – nearly four times the legal limit of 22 micrograms.
The man is expected to appear in court at a later date.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 9.15pm on Tuesday, December 13, road policing officers stopped a vehicle on High Street, Haddington, as part of a routine patrol.
“A 46-year-old man was charged in connection with road traffic offences and is expected to appear at court at a later date.”
