SNOW is forecast for most of East Lothian on Friday as the Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning for snow and ice across the county.
The extreme weather is expected to miss parts of the far east of the county but is expected to impact the majority of East Lothian.
Temperatures are expected to plummet tomorrow evening (Thursday) into Frday morning.
The Met Office said on its website: “Outbreaks of sleet and snow will spread across much of southern, central and western Scotland through Friday; 1-3cm of snow is likely in places below 200 metres, with 5-8cm possible above 200 metres south of the Central Belt.
“Later in the day, snow at low levels will likely turn to rain.
“In addition to the snow, sleet or rain may fall onto frozen surfaces, leading to some icy conditions.”
