Tranent Medical Practice patients moving to Blindwells are being asked to register with Prestonpans Group Practice, as they would no longer live in the catchment area.
A statement on the practice’s Facebook page said: “We’ve been asked by a few patients who have moved to the new Blindwells development if they can remain as patients of Tranent Medical Practice. Unfortunately, the answer to this is no.
“The reason for this is that Blindwells is outside our practice area and people who live outside our practice area cannot be registered with us.
“The A1 forms the northern boundary of our practice area and Blindwells, which is adjacent to Meadowmill, falls outside of this.”
New patients can register with Prestonpans Group Practice, which is next to the community centre, off Preston Road, by downloading a registration form from its website and handing it into the heath centre reception, along with proof of address and ID.
