Tranent Amateur Swimming Club (TASC) held its annual Christmas gala on Saturday (December 3) at the Mercat Gait Sports Centre in Prestonpans where a number of swim clubs from across the county and beyond took part in festive fun and swimming races.

Children and coaches dressed up for the day where a number of festive activities including a tombola and raffle took place as well as competitive swimming races.

Swimmers from Musselburgh, Haddington and District, Midlothian, Carnegie, Duns, Eyemouth and District, Galashiels. Heart of Midlothian, Hawick and Teviotdale, Kelso, Dumfries and Warrender Baths Club all joined Tranent and took part on the day.

Julia Taylor, TASC head coach, said: “It was such a great day and the kids all had a ball. Everyone including swimmers, coaches and officials were getting into the Christmas spirit, getting dressed up and having fun!

“There was lots of great racing and laughs which is what it is all about.

“It all couldn't have been done without the help and support from so many people and we are so grateful for their help as the day would not have been the same without it.”
