INGREDIENTS to make traditional Scottish fare will be on sale as Haddington Farmers’ Market celebrates The Saltire Festival on Saturday.

Twenty-five stalls will line the town’s Court Street with a wide range of food, drink and gift ideas on offer.

Dunbar-based Love Ice Cream is the latest stallholder to join the market which has been running for more than 20 years.

As well as a range of dairy-free ice creams and sorbets, they will also be launching their own Scottish tablet ice cream.

The Saltire Festival runs until next Friday (December 2). Ingredients to make traditional Scotch broth, cock-aleekie soup, stovies, mince and tatties and lamb stew can all be found at the market.

Ready-prepared foods include smoked salmon, Scotch pies, Scotch eggs, scones, cakes and more – all washed down with some Winton Brewery beer.

Haddington Pipe Band will also play at the market, which runs from 9am to 1pm.
