Haddington Rugby Club have announced that Grant Haggart has been appointed as the club’s new development manager, replacing the outgoing Colin Stuart.
Grant has gained experience in rugby through his apprenticeship with Scottish Rugby and running a secondary school rugby program.
He comes from Dallaglio RugbyWorks in Leicestershire, where he had been working as a coach and mentor.
He took up the role on Monday and Haddington officials were delighted to see him join the club.
A club spokesperson said: “Absolutely delighted to announce that Grant Haggart has been appointed to the role of development manager at Haddington Rugby Football Club.
“He was very impressive through the recruitment process.
“In this role he will also be working for our partner, The Compass School.
“Grant has a great pedigree in youth community development and rugby.
“He’s completed an apprenticeship with Scottish Rugby, led the rugby programme at a secondary school, and for the last few years has been involved as a coach and mentor with Dallaglio RugbyWorks.
“The handover from Colin Stuart to Grant has already begun to ensure that he hits the ground running and he’ll be meeting everyone across the club in the coming weeks.”
