Three East Lothian restaurants have been named in 2023's AA Restaurant Guide and have been awarded rosettes for their cooking ability and general atmosphere.
Rosettes are awarded based on the inspector's determination on the day of their visit as well as national AA guidelines for scoring.
The yearly honour features three restaurants in East Lothian, including one eatery featured as AA Restaurant with Rooms of the Year for Scotland 2022-2023.

Ducks Inn
Rosettes: Two
Location: Aberlady, Main Street, EH32 0RE
Food style: Modern British
The small restaurant with rooms was praised by inspectors for being "very comfortable" as well as its cooking "based on local produce with both classic and modern influences."
The bar area has lots of golfing memorabilia, making it a great eatery for golf admirers across the region and country.

Greywalls and Chez Roux

Location: Gullane, Muirfield, EH31 2EG
Food style: Modern French Country
With excellent views of Muirfield's 9th and 18th holes, this elegant, Lutyens-designed country house hotel is great for golf lovers.
The Chez Roux restaurant impressed judges with its "Isle of Mull scallops and chicory; roast veal with sweetbreads; roast Loch Fyne salmon with fennel ravioli; and classic lemon tart with raspberry sorbet."

Food Style: Modern Scottish
The eatery was given the prestigious title of Restaurant with Rooms of the Year for Scotland after judges were stunned by its location between popular golf courses and beautiful East Lothian beaches.
Judges highly marked the restaurant's interior which was described as "a stylish Highlands-meet-Scandi."
The Stables were described as offering "some seriously good comfort-food classics driven by the ‘From Nature to Plate’ philosophy of its founders."
