A CHARITY has revamped one of its main fundraisers in response to the cost-of-living crisis.

Walk With Scott Foundation had planned to hold the traditional Scotter’s Ball on November 12 at Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, in Prestonpans.

However, the group has decided to instead host a band night.

Karen Kidd, secretary of the Tranent-based charity, which has helped more than 50 good causes throughout East Lothian, said: “We did not want to cancel it because there is a massive, ongoing need for us to support those across our communities.

“We can only really do it by events like this.

“Money in is always used and passed out and it is needed now more than ever.

“It was really important to us to continue that.”

The fundraiser will still take place on the same night and at the same venue as previously planned.

The Last Resort will provide the music on the night and tickets, £15 instead of £50, are available through the charity.

Walk With Scott Foundation was set up in 2013 to mark the 50th birthday of the late Scott Glynn.

The first three walks involved walking 56 miles over two days to all six of East Lothian’s rugby clubs to play a game of rugby.

The event has proven to be hugely popular and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds, which have gone to groups promoting health and wellbeing in the community, as well as supporting mental health and inclusion.
