ACHIEVEMENTS of pupils at Dunbar Grammar School have been celebrated in person for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The secondary school held its awards evening with parents and carers on hand to proudly watch as youngsters picked up a series of accolades.

Entertainment was also provided on the night by pupils at the school.

Claire Slowther, headteacher at Dunbar Grammar School, described the ceremony as “a joyous event”.

She said: “Being able to welcome parents and carers back into school felt fantastic.

“I am so proud of the many students who received awards.

“After a difficult few years, it is so encouraging see so many young people thrive and rise to the challenges.

“I am especially proud that the ceremony recognises attainment and also achievement.

“As a school community, we really value effort, hard work and endeavour and this is very much reflected in our awards.

“The event also included some fantastic musical performances.

“Thank you to the dedicated staff who organised the event and the S6 leadership team for being such brilliant hosts.”
