THE Brunton in Musselburgh is kicking off a new autumn/winter season this September with a line-up of Scottish stars.

Barbara Dickson and Hue and Cry headline the Saltire Festival in November but before that there’s plenty more on offer at the venue, with entertainment from across Scotland.

And coming up for the festive season, The Brunton has announced Sinbad the Pantomime, written and directed by renowned theatre-maker John Binnie – a family show for all ages running from Wednesday, November 23, to Saturday, December 31.

The audience can join Sinbad on his fantastic journey as he voyages from Fisherrow over the sea searching for fortune and finding romance with a runaway princess-in-disguise. Sinbad’s interfering mammy follows in hot pursuit, along with the evil, power-hungry mayor.

Along the way there is nail-biting drama, dastardly pirates, riding on the back of a giant whale, and ferocious creatures guarding hidden treasure.

From the same team that brought last year’s Hansel and Gretel and previously Rapunzel, Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk, Sinbad promises family panto fun for the festive season.

Also on offer are I Spy with My Little Eye on Friday, October 21, based on the brand new picture book by Steven Lee, which is recommended for ages two plus.
