Members of North Berwick Coastal Area Partnership agreed at a recent meeting to prioritise funding to tackle the ongoing effects of the cost-of-living crisis.
The group will now allocate the remainder of this year’s funding to organisations and projects that aim to help the most vulnerable in the community.
Members praised the work of groups such as The Kindness Co-operative, Children and Youth Network’s Bursary Scheme and Holiday Hunger Project but stressed that, as the situation worsened, many more might be pushed into financial difficulties.
The area partnership is now urging groups across the ward to apply for funding to help those in need.
Applications must be completed by October 31, in time for the group’s next public meeting on November 15.
