I AM sure you all share my concern over the recent increase of anti-social behaviour affecting Musselburgh. Incidents at Fisherrow Harbour and Stoneybank Terrace highlight the rise in serious anti-social behaviour in our communities.
The reported incidents at Fisherrow Harbour are cause for great concern, as large groups of young people risk their health and wellbeing as well as damage property, causing great disruption to the local fishermen.
I am also concerned about the reported serious assault in Stoneybank Terrace, and would advise anyone with any information on this to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3094.
After a stressful few years, we all want to enjoy the summer weather; however, incidents like these risk the community’s safety.
I appreciate the great work of Police Scotland officers in dealing with these situations.
This behaviour is completely unacceptable, and I am in correspondence with both Police Scotland and East Lothian Council to ensure that these issues are dealt with swiftly.
Sadly, this column covers one topic I wish I would not need to address; however, it is of great importance we all condemn all anti-social incidents in the strongest way possible.
On a positive note, there is cause for celebration as Hollies Day Centre in Musselburgh is gearing up for its indoor market on Saturday.
Seeing Hollies’ accomplishments since overcoming its recent challenges is a great success story from which we can take inspiration.

Organisations such as Hollies are of great importance to our community and it’s great to see the community pull together to ensure Hollies can continue its great work.
During these tough financial times it is important we support each other in any way we can.
Furthermore, I hope the positive news concerning Hollies Day Centre is welcomed and demonstrates the exceptional work that can be done when the community comes together.
