A HADDINGTON man who sent grossly offensive messages to his former partner has been told he cannot have any contact with the woman.
Bruce Farquhar, 42, sent electronic messages to the woman that were said to have been offensive or of an obscene, menacing or indecent nature.
Farquhar, of Gowl’s Close, sent the messages to the woman at her home address in Tranent on March 6.
He appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday for sentencing after he had admitted the offence last month.
Sheriff John Cook said he was content to admonish Farquhar on the offence but also decided to impose a non-harassment order for the next two years.
The sheriff added that there must be no contact between the pair apart from issues regarding childcare, and these must take place electronically and not in person.
