RESIDENTS’ concerns about plans to alter the parking outside their homes have led to the proposals being shelved.

East Lothian Council was looking to create a new parking area on Port Seton’s Golf Drive.

The proposals would have seen the existing car parking layout on the south side of the street extended to accommodate 20 new white-lined parking spaces.

A ban on parking would then have been put in place on a stretch of the opposite side of the road.

However, the council has confirmed it is looking to amend the plans in a bid to find a more favourable solution.

A spokesperson for East Lothian Council said: “Further to consultation with the local residents, we have decided to withdraw this application temporarily while we work on some alterations with our road services colleagues with the intention of submiting a revised proposal in due course.”
