A MUSSELBURGH man has been ordered to keep away from a woman after he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards her.

Anthony Barclay repeatedly attended at the woman’s home in the Silverknowes area of Edinburgh, shouted at her and threatened to cause damage to her garden.

Barclay also blocked the woman’s entrance to her street with his truck and was found to have stared at her and repeatedly sent her threatening emails between March 14 and April 22, 2020.

Barclay, of Windsor Park, also admitted to a charge of resisting police arrest by violently lashing out with his arms and legs at the city’s Gordon Court on October 28, 2020.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to the two offences when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Friday.

Sheriff Douglas Keir heard the facts of the case and sentenced Barclay to pay a fine of £520 to mark the offence.

The sheriff also imposed a 12-month non-harassment order banning Barclay from approaching or contacting the woman and from entering her street.
